FAQ

What is Cascara?

Cascara is nature’s original energy source. It’s the fleshy fruit around the coffee bean! Some people might not know that the coffee bean is just the pit inside a berry. Typically, in coffee farming only the beans are preserved. The fruit is removed and discarded. We turned the by- product into our hero-ingredient. Cascara contains caffeine, is rich in antioxidants and has a wonderful fruity taste.

Where do you source your Cascara from?

We carefully source from some of the best coffee farming soils in Latin America to make sure the fruit tastes outstandingly good. Our coffee berries are hand-picked and carefully processed with the natural dry method (simple sun drying = saving water). We direct trade with a select number of small coffee farmers, who we trust.

How much caffeine is in each can?

Each 12 fl oz can contains 80 mg clean, natural caffeine. This is more energy than a shot of espresso.

What means clean energy and what is the difference in the caffeine used in other energy drinks?

The clean caffeine in UP TO GOOD comes from one single ingredient source, the natural coffee fruit (Cascara). The energy boost is long lasting and gives you sustained focus. Most other energy drinks are chemical based, which give you jitters, and after the kick comes the sudden crash.

How do you make UP TO GOOD taste so good?

Just like with wine, the best flavor begins with the best fruit. We only use sun-dried Cascara, where the flavor is not washed out. Our process of naturally craft brewing the coffee fruit like a tea, gives our finished sparkling Cascara a bright fruity flavor that is complex, earthy and better than any other on the market. We carefully select South American coffee fruits and add just a few organic flavor extracts to create our adventurous world of UP TO GOOD.

Is there any added sugar in UP TO GOOD?

No! Just the coffee berries’ natural fruit sugar plus some extra sweetness of our stevia and erythritol blend.

What does upcycling mean?

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products or waste materials into new products of better quality and environmental value. We think upcycling is the new recycling! We upcycle coffee fruits (a by-product of the coffee-craze) to reduce waste, decrease water usage and increase income for direct trade coffee farmers.

What is the 1% Giveback to Farmers program?

Positive values are important to us: We give 1% of revenue back to our famers and their communities to power more good.

What is the best time to drink UP TO GOOD?

It’s up to you when you’re Up to Good. There isn’t a bad time to enjoy Cascara. Because it’s energizing, sparkling and refreshing, any time of the day is good. Caffeine before bed might not be ideal, but we won’t tell you what to do!

How should UP TO GOOD be stored?

You can store it at room temperature. But, UP TO GOOD is best enjoyed chilled. Fill up your fridge and enjoy ice cold!

What are the cans made out of and can I recycle them?

Our cans are made out of BPA-free aluminum and are 100% recyclable. Just put them out with your normal curbside pickup. Our cans are way more sustainable than glass and PET. No doubt plastic is bad! And the downside of glass is its weight. It is greener to transport aluminum cans because they are lightweight and can be packed tightly together.

Can children, pregnant or nursing women drink UP TO GOOD?

Just like any other energy drink, we do not recommend caffeinated drinks for children, pregnant or nursing women and persons sensitive to caffeine.
